This year, I turn sixty — my Kanreki, the traditional milestone year of the Fire Horse. To mark this moment and with deep gratitude for everything that has brought me here, I painted this piece by hand as a small celebration for myself. I painted a celebratory ribbon in a way that isn’t too sweet, with a cosmic feeling. Sixty years feels mysterious, almost like the universe — somehow vast and full of wonder.
